snowfall in May --
spilled blossoms from above

willows sprout fresh ribbons --
young girls on a lark

on warm winds
the smell of green --
earthworm carves a trail

willow buds caress --
pale moon balancing

winter's tattered remnants --
laced with birdsong

snow banks
gritty and blackened --
the last guest that lingers on forever
